SAFE, The A.J. Melilo Center for Mental Health, North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove and the Glen Cove Housing Authority collaborate to provide programs and services and to identify additional needs. This collaboration delivers quality mental health, alcohol and drug prevention, intervention, evaluation and referral services and educational outreach services to adults and children who are residents of the Glen Cove Housing Authority apartments.
SAFE provides two part-time professionals to facilitate educational presentation as well as treatment interventions for Housing Authority residents. The Outreach staff also coordinates treatment services with the Glen Cove Community Policing Unit, who identify and refer individuals abusing drugs and alcohol.
